Exploring the Future of Energy

Our research drives solutions for the future net-zero electric grids

Today’s grid was built around centralised, fossil fuel-based power generation. It relies on rigid, often manual control mechanisms that cannot accommodate the complexities of a renewables-driven network: a network that incorporates two-way power flows and uncertain, weather-dependent generation.

Future-proofing the grid demands real-time automation and flexible demand-side management to adapt to fast-changing grid dynamics. From modular digital secure communications architecture, to optimal round-the-clock operations, our research focuses on the full automation of existing infrastructure to enable a resilient, robust, net-zero energy system that is able to meet climate requirements and growing energy demands.
